About this listen

Leo Graf was just your average highly efficient engineer: mind your own business, fix what's wrong, and move on to the next job. But all that changed on his assignment to the Cay Habitat, where a group of humanoids had been secretly, commercially bioengineered for working in free fall.

Could he just stand there and allow the exploitation of hundreds of helpless children merely to enhance the bottom line of a heartless mega-corporation?

He hadn't anticipated a situation where the right thing to do was neither safe, nor in the rules. Leo adopted a thousand quaddies. Now all he had to do was teach them to be free.

I have read a lot of sci fi but have managed to overlook this author until now. I will be reading her other work as I thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling in this novel.

This is an excellent piece of writing. Drama, tension, suspense. The story is compelling, and the science fiction elements are presented in an excellent manner. I look forward to reading more in the series.

Read the books years ago and really enjoyed them. The audio books are nearly as good - just struggled a bit with the very hard American twang? sharpness? of the audio .. but then I always have. Harsh audio, but still a good story.

Well done for it's time

She sure has the knack of writing an engaging story and believable characters. And a sound ethical framework

I forced my way through it because I’m listening to the series a second time. This is a terrible book.
