About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Eric is the Discworld's only demonology hacker. Pity he's not very good at it.

All he wants is his three wishes granted.Nothing fancy - to be immortal, rule the world, have the most beautiful woman in the world fall madly in love with him, the usual stuff.

But instead of a tractable demon, he calls up Rincewind, probably the most incompetent wizard in the universe, and the extremely intractable and hostile form of travel accessory known as the Luggage.

With them on his side, Eric's in for a ride through space and time that is bound to make him wish (quite fervently) again - this time that he'd never been born.

Critic Reviews

'Like Jonathan Swift, Pratchett uses his other world to hold up a distorting mirror to our own, and like Swift he is a satirist of enormous talent ... incredibly funny ... compulsively readable'

'The great Terry Pratchett, whose wit is metaphysical, who creates an energetic and lively secondary world, who has a multifarious genius for strong parody ... who deals with death with startling originality. Who writes amazing sentences'

(A.S. Byatt)

'His spectacular inventiveness makes the Discworld series one of the perennial joys of modern fiction'

In an epic satire of Faust, Terry Pratchett brings us on a rollicking adventure through the history and finer subtlety of his Discworld. Rincewind returns from the Dungeon Dimension in this book after we left him there at the conclusion of Sourcery. In this book you'll be treated to how the Octavo was left on the Discworld, how denizens of hell occupy themselves and how 13 year old boys shouldn't muck about with demonology.
A hilarious and nuanced addition to the Discworld series. A book that is great fun to read, listen to or look at the illustrated edition. A good choice for anyone.

Rincewind yet again at no fault of there own shatter the universe, just because they just so happen to be in the wrong place at the right time, this time however it's somehow makes alot of people very happy. Anyway as always it was an incredible read, listen by Tony, I don't know why people dislike it.

So that's how they get back.. oh no that's how they get back.

Tony gives a stellar performance reading one of Terrys classic stories from the Discworld while poking satire at Greek myths and the notions of gods and devils generally

Hilarious story read perfectly
