I've read the book before but haven't had time to read it again, so I was excited to listen to the audio book whilst driving.

I wasn't a fan of the beastly voice that was given to the dragon. As a powerful and magical being, her voice sounded too brutish and unintelligent and frustrated me when hearing it.

The rest of the performance was great.

have loved this series since I was 11(now 30). whilst there's compelling arguments for the story and some of its arcs to be all but stolen from other series lotr star wars etc, paolinis characters and pacing with nostalgia make it so re-read able(listenable?). sadly the person who narrates, (whom has a fine voice and in his natural tone is we quite pleasant to listen to). I have to admit his voice of many characters including Sapphira and Eragon are quite underwhelming and very far from what I assume anyone imagined them to be BUT after the first book you get used to it and it's no worries

Little bit of a slow start but only because there is such an extensive and awesome plot that needs a lot of setting up. I 10/10 loved the plot and performance. I am so excited to start the second book and really recommend getting through the whole first half before deciding if you like the series or not!

Childhood book that I loved. Not a big fan of the fact that Saphira sounds like fat Albert but hard to kill such a great story.

Similar to the majority of the reviews, I was not the biggest fan of Saphira's (dragon) voice having created my own outlook when reading the book as a child. I have however grown to tolerate it and have even enjoyed it at times whenever we came across one of Saphiras clever/cheeky remarks when conversing with Eragon though not a huge fan of the husky voice.

I think returning readers might have difficulty with this aspect as we all have created our own voice for these characters though if you are able to tolerate it the story is still as brilliant and engaging as I remember. New readers should not be put off by this as the story is fantastic and very enjoyable. Excited to listen to the rest of the series.

Well read better experience than the move by far, happy I finally got to listen to this and highly recommended this for anyone who wanted more from the move.

One of my favourite books ever, but the narrator chose some weird voices. Saphira's voice is very grating which is a shame because it'd be great otherwise
