Publisher's Summary

US Marshal Bishop Jones has known heartache unlike someone his age should. After losing his only parent, he’s found himself completely and utterly alone, with only his dog for company. Working long hours and being new to the area doesn’t give many opportunities for him to get out and meet someone.

Veterinarian Xander Garrison has devoted his life to four-legged critters. Between his vet clinic and the animal shelter he helps his mother run, he doesn’t have a lot of free time. But the lonely nights are getting longer, and he wants more than just a warm body from the latest hookup. He wants a partner and lover he can count on.

There is an obvious attraction between the two men, but the animosity Xander has toward Bishop is stronger than a rawhide bone. But when Bishop needs Xander’s help with a case, Xander sees a new side of the deputy and wonders if he was too quick to judge.

Can their attraction disarm the locks around their hearts? After all, destiny and one tiny little furball have something else in mind.

Disarming My Destiny is the fifth book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin-off, but it isn’t a requirement that you listen to that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be encountered, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book will focus on a different couple, you should listen to them in order.

Warning: This book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.

like the story

I really like this series by Taylor Rylan and have been reading all of the books but this was the first audiobook from the series I have listed to. I'm not a fan. It was really monotone and the characters were too similar. I like the story. Not a fan of the narrator.

Marshall and a Vet

I enjoyed this story. Bishop and Xander were a couple of stubborn men. I'm glad they were able to get past both their issues and work things out.

Vet and Marshall ♡

This was a good easy listen with a nice bit of steamy parts. I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and how they made sure despite their chemistry that they still tried to take their time (even if they didn't really wait all that long to jump into things). I wish there was more to the story though. I don't feel like much happened.

A sweet and sexy love story

Book 5 in the Sulfur Springs series by Taylor Rylan didn't disappoint. Michael Dean has done a wonderful job of bringing Xander and Bishop to life. I adore this series. It is low angst and yet it has clearly shown the struggle and miss communication that many couple go through. This book is very real and beautifully written and narrated.

Marshalls, Doctors, Horses Oh My!

This is the fifth book in The Sulfur Springs Series. A sensational book with good writing. I think that this was my favorite of the series. Although the ending was abrupt and felt rushed. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were developed and thought out. Bishop and Xander are the MC’s of this book. The narration was good and even had me laughing out loud in a couple of spots. I can recommend this book as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Bishop and Xander's Story

Disarming My Destiny is the fifth book in the Sulfur Springs series. I suggest reading the other books in the series for maximum enjoyment.

Like the fourth book in the series, Disarming My Destiny focuses on the love story of one of the U.S. Marshalls who were investigating a case within the Sulfur Springs area. The romance and characters were enjoyable, if conventional, but the actual mystery and law enforcement side was strange. It felt like the author did not have a good grasp of what U.S. Marshalls actually do and instead just wanted a cool federal law enforcement agency to throw into the story. It took a bit to suspend my disbelief on that end. When it came to the romance part of the book, that was well done and fun to read about.

Loving these books

Finally Bishop gets his story, and we find out about his back story. He's not what we all thought, that's all I'm saying.

Xander who's rude, blunt and wrong has a lot of apologising to do.

Great book, great story, narration is always great. Recommend you all read this series.

Book 5

I so love the guys from Sulfur Springs. Book 5 tells the story of Bishop and Zander. Bishop is devestated by the death of his father although he lost him almost a year ago with Alzheimer. The only thing that keeps him sane is his dad's little Havenese Oreo. But because he makes such long hours in his job he needs to put the little doggie in daycare. He can do that at the vet's and soon Oreo becomes a favorite of the vet Zander. But Zander isn't too happy about the fact that Bishop shouldn't have a dog if he's away from home that much and he is not shy of letting Bishop know. But there is attraction between the two and after Zander has helped Biship and Adrian with their case to find the missing horses they soon realise their conception of each other is not correct. Zander realises Bishop adores his little pet and wants to find out the reason why. Bishop wants to find out why the handsome vet is so set against him having a dog. And so the story enfolds to where they can't stop having feelings for each other. But they both want to go slow as they realise they could have more and want to see where this relationship could head to. And so again Sulfur Springs is where the magic happens and we keep meeting all the other characters from the previous books. Michael Dean has done an excellent job with the narrating and I can't wait to listen to the next book in this series.

as great as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Michael Dean is one of the 8 narrators (so far), I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

I Love a good enemies to lovers!

Taylor did a great job building the animosity between these two and it was glorious. Once their connection begin to build though, WOW. Their were great. It took a little while longer than I maybe would have liked but it was worth the wait. I really enjoyed that while these books are all connected they can be easily done as a stand alone and all of the supporting cast is well introduced and enjoyable enough to make me want to seek out other books in the series.

Michael always does a great job but he really Brought a lot of emotion to this book that I wasnt expecting

Disarming Romance, Michael Dean is Fantastic!

Disarming My Destiny is now available as an audiobook narrated by Michael Dean.

The fifth book in Taylor Rylan’s Sulfur Springs series, Disarming My Destiny can be read as a standalone. In fact, this is only my second book by Ms. Rylan and I didn’t have any trouble following along. References to characters from previous stories are nicely explained, and I enjoyed the story the whole way through.

It’s clear Taylor Rylan has a wonderful time building the animosity between the two main characters. Xander suffers from open mouth-insert foot disease and his awkward, unprofessional, slightly creepy remarks leave Bishop cold. Even though the romantic chemistry is there between these two from the start, it takes them a while to build a friendship. But once they start… wowza!

There’s a great supporting cast in Disarming My Destiny. I enjoyed Xander’s staff at the vet hospital, and his mother is wonderful. Plus Ms. Rylan fills the story with colorful descriptions of the charming Wyoming communities and the beauty of this part of the country. (And bonus points for a super cute pup.)

Michael Dean’s performance is truly fantastic. The emotion he brings to the opening scenes is impressive, and very moving. Mr. Dean does a wonderful Southern drawl for Bishop, and frankly I could listen to him read to me all day long with this sultry accent. It’s also clear he’s having a blast doing it, which makes for a very fun audiobook experience.

The Marshal and the Veterinarian

I've really enjoyed this Sulfur Springs series so far and Michael Dean (Michael Pauley) is one of my all-time favourite narrators. He doesn't disappoint with this wonderful performance as the guys work though their case...US Marshal Bishop with his work partner team up with other agents. Xander works at his vet practice and helps out at his mother's animal shelter part-time. He and the Marshal are clearly attracted but both very busy with their work so that doesn't leave them much time for dating or fun, but they end up finding a way. Xander also helps Bishop with a case involving stolen horses. Highly recommended Contemporary Action-adventure MM Romance.

Deputy Hunk and the Vet!

Beautiful story of a young man, left with no family and a dog he can’t take care of all the time. Cute Oreo gives him the best opportunity to land a suspicious Veterinarian. Xander is much older but caught his eye from the beginning. A seemingly impossible romance turns into a scorching one with a nice happy ending. Loved it!
