In Certain Dark Things we are told the story in multiple POV’s which all centre around the vampire Atl, and how their stories all intertwine. Domingo and Atl are sunshine x grumpy personified and their growing trust and bonds throughout the novel is one of my favourite things about this book. Moreno-Garcia has a knack for writing strong women who can be vulnerable and Atl & Ana are yet another example of her doing this well.

The vampirism and the culture is outstanding. The different subsets of vampires, the explanations, the eccentricities and the danger to them is something that I’ve missed when reading numerous vampire novels. You can always trust that Moreno-Garcia will write a culturally rich and raw novel.

I loved on the take of the vampire from Aztec history & mythology. Enjoyed the friendship between Domingo & Atl. Enjoyed this world & Aida Reluzco brought the world to life.

I'm really loving this author and appreciating the fresh perspective of a "non-mainstream culture" (if that makes sense?). It gives a much needed new take on vampires and the story sort of gave me a Blade Runner/ Noir vibe? Again, not sure if that makes sense, but the author's storytelling really brings to life vivid details like that.

Stories on vampires abound but, still Bram Stoker, nothing really original had been written, until this book. Silvia Garcia Moreno brought some fresh air into the genus and that’s welcome! I had already read this book and that listening was my second take. It let in my mouth the same great taste, the taste of great literature. The narration was also great!
