It is said that all who live belong ultimately to the Undying King. In the shadowy lands of Shyish, Nagash, God of Death, calls forth his soulless legions to reassert his dominion. Standing between Nagash and his prize are the brooding Anvils of the Heldenhammer, an ancient host of Stormcast Eternals, and Lord-Castellant Pharus Thaum, guardian of the Ten Thousand Tombs. Excellent Fantasy Adventure
I was pleasantly surprised by this title in the relatively new Age of Sigma setting. Most of the series so far have been action-centric and somewhat plot thin, but this book is nothing less than a thrilling joyride through fantastic settings and vibrant characters. It also helps that you don't need to know too much about the AoS background, making this book a must have for any fan of swashbuckling fantasy.

Uninspired Story, Uncharismatic Characters
This was a slog like few others with characters I just didn't care about doing things that did little to advance the plot or even develop what the stakes of that plot were. I don't know who the hero is because no one is heroic, and one of the "good guys" is more vicious and cruel than the 2-dimensional villain.

How Incredible!
The Silver Shard is a roller coaster ride that continues to elevate higher and higher and higher. The characters are interesting and woven masterfully into a story that twists and turns into a blossoming ending that has you cheering out loud as you hear them. It is a most definite read for anyone who enjoys fantasy set in the Age of SIgmar universe. The performance of the reader is buttery smooth and portrays distinct, recognizable voices for each of the characters while excellently performed. A Must Have.

What a great story for developing the AoS at large. The tale winds from Oruks to Corsairs to Khorne Reavers to Karadin to Tzangors effortlessly through the eyes of a witch hunter and his companions. If you are looking for the world that was to be replaced by the world that is then this story is for you. Great narration tons great plot. More please.

The adventure is fun enough despite getting bogged down at times. The Shev and Occlesius double act is for me the core of the story and could have been played up more, even justifying their own spin off. A good listen but not a must listen.

Best Age Of Sigmar Book
If you are looking for the best AOS book this is it, the others about the Stormcast Eternals can be a bit dry and too similar to the 40K Space Marine books.
Most of the races and factions are portrayed in this book and the mortals involved make a welcome change to the immortal superhuman Stormcasts basically shouting oaths to Sigmar while casting down Chaos demons.
I look forward to the second outing.

Gotrek and Felix mk2
what can I say, it's not the best book in the damn world but by God it really adds that oldhammer feel to the world of age of sigmar. I found moments between the Callis and Toll much akin to gotrek and Felix which made moments even more memorable. whisky this tale is setting up Callis and Toll and definitely ends with them as the centre piece, this specific novel has a third main character in the name of Sev (unsure of the spelling!). she's a great addition to the story and hopefully she gets her own focus in separate novels. This does probably the best job of giving this world an oldhammer feel with its different locations and living environments. A must for any more enthusiast!

Great Audio-book Overall
After having read the City of Secrets and The Old Ways I was excited to see how the duo was doing and wasn't dissapointed. Hearing from the perspective of new characters was a change of pace, but a welcome one since they were well written. Barnaby did an excellent job of narrating, especially with the voice of Vermyr. I did hope to give the story a 5 star review since I am a fan of Callis and Toll, but unfortunatly some parts of the story just held it back from this. Some of the plot points felt a bit rushed towards the end especially the parting scene. I am eager to see where the next installment of Callis and Toll will lead, good job Nick Horth (:

Complete let down :(
I really struggled to stick with this book. After listening to a few Gotrek and Felix books I decided to give this one a go.
The story had very little in the way of world development. It was basically one battle to the next with no real story or fluff to pad the story out.
My advice would be to listen to G&F and give this one a miss
