القاهرة 2045. يعلن "جاليري شغل كايرو"، المؤسسة الفنية المستقلة لفنون الهامش، عن منحة لتشييد ماكيت مصغر للمدينة قبل ربع قرن، "قاهرة 2020"، والتي أصبحت الآن "العاصمة السابقة لمصر". انطلاقاً من هذا الحدث، تؤرخ الرواية للقاهرة بأربعة أزمنة: 2045 ،2020 ،2011، وزمن غير محدد في مستقبل بعيد. في كل زمن تنهض شخصية تعمل بالفن المستقل: "أوريجا" المغرم بتشييد ماكيتات مصغرة للمدينة والموصوم منذ طفولته بقتل الأب، "نود" المخرجة الوثائقية الملاحقة، الخارجة من الحبس سنتين بتهمة "خدش الحياء العام" بسبب فيلمها السابق، "بلياردو" رسام الجرافيتي في زمن ثورة يناير، المطارد على الدوام بتهمة تلويث جدران المدينة، و"مانجا" رسامة الكوميكس التي تمتلك ذاكرتين للمدينة. تلتقي الأزمنة المختلفة وتتقاطع على شرف مكان واحد هو الجاليري. تطرح "ماكيت القاهرة" علاقة المدينة بالفرد، وعلى الأخص: الفنان، المهمش، الباحث عن هويته والمطارد من الجميع: السلطة والناس على حد سواء.
