What valuable company is nobody building? The next Bill Gates will not build an operating system. The next Larry Page or Sergey Brin won't make a search engine. If you are copying these guys, you aren't learning from them. It's easier to copy a model than to make something new: doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to 10, adding more of something familiar. Every new creation goes from zero to one. This book is about how to get there.

The Venture Capital Manual
Many thanks to Bradley Miles for putting this book together. The print version of the book has over 90 five star reviews so I had to grab a copy of the audiobook.
Bradley takes you through the terminology of venture capital and the basic formulas for understanding how to determine the present value of a company, and its projected value over the next few years. This knowledge is critical for landing a job at a venture capital firm, but also for entrepreneurs who want to understand where their company is right now, and where it's going.
I wish I had this book seventeen years ago when I opened my first business with some family members. Bradley makes it easy to understand exactly where a company is at, and if an investment is worth it.
Funny that I was just watching The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon, and his character works at a venture capital firm. Of course, there's Shark Tank and the television show, The Profit, so we can see that the popularity of venture capital is skyrocketing.
As Bradley says, it's time to break into venture capital. Get the audiobook, you'll love it. Great narration too. John's voice is perfect for this kind of content.
Thanks Bradley!

Really bad
I know... My mistake... I just looked at the cover... This book has no value and it’s mostly childish... and I didn’t even have to stomach to listen it entirely. So if you have never heard about VCs then this might be for you. For others get any other book...

Nothing you can’t find online
For anyone that spends any amount of time following major websites, blogs and newsletters, you won’t learn much new. Super basic and ‘how to interview’ if you’re straight out of college basically.

Easy read, for college students
An interesting and easy listen in the form of a “how to” guide for beginning a career in Venture Capital. Only downfall is that at times it feels too heavily aimed at college students or those seeking an internship.

Easy to understand
Would you listen to #BreakInto VC again? Why?
Yes, I would listen to Break Into VC again because there's a number of formulas for understanding how to determine whether or not a business will be a profitable investment, and I don't think one listen is enough.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to this book in five sittings. I think its appropriate for a book like this to let things sink in.
Any additional comments?
If you're not familiar with the inner-workings of venture capital, then this is the audiobook to get. This is not an elementary school introduction, but it is presented in such a way that someone completely unfamiliar with the subject can jump in and wrap their head around it. Some books and websites forget that not everyone is familiar with the terminology and the methodology of venture capital. Bradley starts you off on a nice foundation and builds upon that foundation little by little. A great guidebook on the subject, and the narrator was perfect for the subject matter.

The Big Picture of Possibilities
Shark Tank has really put venture capital on the map, but I was compelled to understand how the sharks think, rather than be a mere viewer. Granted, you can learn a lot from the show, and there are many websites now on the subject, but Bradley puts everything together in this audiobook. The narrator was an exceptional choice as well. His pronunciations are clear, and his delivery of the information could have been dry, lifeless and monotone, but it is alive and enjoyable to listen to. Invest the money in this title; it's an investment in yourself.
