Luc O'Donnell is tangentially - and reluctantly - famous. His rock-star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next 20 years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything.
To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. In other words, he’s perfect boyfriend material. Unfortunately, apart from being gay, single, and really really in need of a date for a big event, Luc and Oliver have nothing in common. So they strike a deal to be publicity-friendly (fake) boyfriends until the dust settles. Then they can go their separate ways and pretend it never happened.
But the thing about fake-dating is that it can feel a lot like real-dating. And that's when you get used to someone...start falling for them...don't ever want to let them go.

Romantic comedy. Best read/listen in ages.
What a great listen. Heartfelt, witty, touching, laugh out loud funny. Very well written. Plus Joe Jamison is a fantastic narrator. So many voices and fun accents. Great romance.

Perfection!!
Being the son of famous musicians, Luc is a minor celebrity the media love to pillory. When his employer threatens to fire him if his press doesn’t improve, he agrees to fake date Oliver, a barrister with a respectable image. This was a witty, fun, absolutely entertaining, and quintessentially British story with hurt / comfort themes. Alexis Hall has channeled Sophie Kinsella and PG Wodehouse to create this delightful romcom - perfection! 🎧 Joe Jameson (aka Hamish Long) bring great comedic talent to his always excellent narration.

Performance was incredible!
The narrator really brought these characters to life! I haven’t been able to finish a book in ages but this was perfect.

The narrator is amazing
Loved the story. while it wasnt the most origional storyline, it was well written; funny, sweet, stressful and romantic. The narrator is sensational, every voice was perfection and he is nothing less that gold in his performance.

I adored this book! So many moments had me laughing out loud and I think I had a big cheesy grin on my face the whole time I read it.

Comfort food on a cold day
This book has become like comfort food for me. I think this is my 4th read/listen? As the weather here turns cold as we in the Sth Hemisphere turn toward winter, I needed to curl up with something that would make me feel good. This book is it for me. Love it to bits. Joe Jameson is masterful in his characterisations throughout this story and it is like visiting old friends.
Going to carry right on into Husband Material because, you know, I can.

A fantastic listen
I loved this book. Heart-warming with a perfect balance of laugh out loud moments. It really felt like a genuine story that I could draw some reference to real life. I can't wait to listen to the sequel
