BPD us a great book

A borderline personality disorder is a good book for professionals and any person suffering from this particular disorder. It contained explanations about types of disorder and different types of possible treatments, including none medication technics, such as CBD and other mindfulness approaches. They also discussed possible medications that the doctor or specialist psychiatrist could offer. The reader can find plenty of helpful advice on how to manage moods and impulsive behaviours

Life-Changer

This book has changed the life of my partner and me. It provides the background, biology, and well-written skills necessary to begin immediately helping me to understand my partner, and begin communicating and sharing our lives after a long period of pain, anger, helplessness. Utilizing the methods this book details, starting with validation, was equal to flipping a light switch to the life we previously shared, and are rebuilding together. It also catalyzed my partner to seek debt.

Very detailed.

This book is a "how-to" in dealing with BPD for families. It helps families see that they are not alone. Other families are having to deal with some of the same issues that they have been experiencing for years. It's a new way of seeing your loved one's behavior and effective ways of dealing with that behavior.

Five Stars

This book reads like the Bible of how to deal with your loved one's BPD. It's a little hard to read, perhaps because its content isn't what you really want to hear. I E, the idea that these people really need to be handled in a much different manner than the average person.

The Best

This is one of the best books on understanding and dealing with a person with Borderline Personality disorder. It covers almost everything that is known about this disorder with a lot of empathy and understanding. I would highly recommend this book especially for people who are beyond the stage of grief and anger and are ready to deal with the borderline in their lives in a compassionate manner.

Very Well Written

Judy Dyer offers the reader a plan to help the person they love to change. This is a book about being compassionate and effective. If you follow its prescriptions, it will not only help you change the life of someone you know who is suffering from a terrible illness, it will change your life too.

Pretty Good

This book is the antidote for all of the misinformation, bad advice and tough love literature you'll find on Amazon, the web and in the offices of mental health professionals. Judy Dyer writes in a clear, concise manner and never talks down to the reader. By describing what is happening in the brains of people with BPD, Judy Dyer helps the reader to understand that the illness has a biological basis.

Recommended

This book was recommended highly by our daughter's therapist. It is an extremely thorough review of the type of experiences a person with Borderline Personality Disorder has ---most other resources were from the perspective of others (ie behavior-centered) rather than understanding the inner turmoil that someone with BPD faces every day.

Interesting

This book overflows with compassion for the BPD sufferer and their family members. The book is full of up to date information, also best recommended therapies, plus helpful ways parents can change the way they validate their BPD ones to a more effective manner. This book is educational and hopeful, the best of several I've read recently on this disorder.

A good guide

A very helpful book on BPD. It is a difficult thing for a family to adjust to and the author does a good job of striking a balance between compassion and information.

Happy With It

I read the book and was so happy to get a real idea of what BOD is and ways to deal with it. Unlike other books that say the best thing is to run from it. I loved the book so much i join Valerie class in NY she is the greatest

This book really helped me

This book really helped me understand what my loved one was feeling and gave me encouragement to go down what I feel is the right path. It does a good job of addressing the fact that other psychologists may have misled or misdiagnosed your loved one and gives you real, workable things to do to better support them. It's hard work, but definitely worth a read if you care about someone suffering from BPD.
