نعم جثة أمام سجادتي ملفوفة بكفنٍ، ووجهها فقط هو ما يظهر منها.. دبَّ الرعب بقلبي، تسرَّب البرد إلى جوارحي وروحي فأغمضت عينيّ أستعيذ بالله من الشيطان، أهمسُ لنفسي:هذه تهيؤات، هذا ليس له وجود.

فتحت عيناي أعيد الكرّة لأتأكد من جديد علَّها ذهبت.. علَّ سرابها رحل!.. وجدتها مكانها لم تتحرك، استجمعتُ شجاعتي واقتربتُ منها وأطرافي كلها ترتَعد، ركَّزت في معالمها وهَرَبَ الدم من جسدي..

كانت جثةً لأحد المشايخ الذين كنت أشاهدهم بالتلفاز، لون جلدها أخضرٌ كعَفَن الخبز ممتلئ بالنتوءات والفجوات كمن أكله الدود للتوِّ؛ مظهرها مرعب، عيناها مفتوحتان مبيضتان وكأنهما تنظران لي، يغزو الشيب شعر لحيتها ورأسها، حول عينيها سواد قاتم، نتوءات جلدها مثيرة للغثيان والرعب، كذبت عيناي لأقترب منها بإصبعي أحاول لمسها...ولكن!
