People in relationships with avoidants struggle with their lack of responsiveness and inability to tolerate real intimacy. Relationships between an avoidant and a partner of another attachment type are the largest group of unhappy relationships, and people who love their partners and who may have started families and had children with an avoidant will work very hard to try to make their relationships work better, out of love for their partner and children as well as their own happiness.

Publisher's Summary
This book is intended to be a practical guide to using the modern science of attachment and relationships to guide the questioning toward a more fulfilling life.
If you were brought up in the Western world, you've been trained on fairy tales of love and relationships that are misleading at best, and at worst have you making mistake after mistake in starting relationships with the wrong kinds of people who will waste your time and keep you from finding a loyal partner. Science has the answer! Or at least a guide to save you the time and effort of discovering for yourself how many wrong types of romantic partners there are.
Reading this book will help you recognize the signs of some of the syndromes that prevent people from being good partners. We'll go through those syndromes and point out some of the signs. Those little red flags you sometimes notice when you are getting to know someone? Often they speak loud and clear once you understand the types, and you can decide immediately to run away or approach with caution those who show them.
This book outlines the basics (which might be all you need), and points you toward more resources if you want to understand more about your problem partner. If you're wondering if the guy or girl you've been hanging out with might not be quite right, this is the place to match those little red flags you've noticed with known bad types. And by getting out fast, you can avoid emotional damage and wasted time, and get going on finding someone who's really right for you. Study all of the bad types and you'll detect them before even getting involved. Or you could be one of the few people who recognizes their own problems in one of these types. There are study materials and plans of action for you, too. If you've had lots of relationships and they all seem to go wrong, the common factor is you! Your task is to make yourself into a better partner - a goal that even the most evolved of us can always work toward.

Doesn’t offer great insights if you already know a bit about attachment
If you are already familiar with attachment styles then this doesn’t really offer anything new. If you don’t know much then the easy, understandable delivery might be useful.

Great book to understand attachment styles
This is a great book to understand attachment styles but doesn’t give you a great direction on how to use some of the tools. It just gives you the understanding of what attachment styles are. I would recommend this book if you want more informatu

Captivating Book describing Attachment Styles
First book I've finished on Audible... captivating! This book describes many of my relationship struggles. Next, the author could write a book on how to resolve these traumas/ energy dynamics on your own (aside from therapy). Great book, thanks!

Great book and gives you a basic understanding
This book gives you a great understanding of attachment theory for newcomers. It also gives you a different perspective on things which really opened my mind. To dive into the subject deeper I suggest the book, "Attached." It will take things to the next level.

Excellent
As a therapist I really wanted to find an audio book that clearly defined attachment theory in dis functional relationships. I struggle to find time to sit down and read but audio is perfect, this book was well read, clear to understand and had many moments where I wish I had a pen and paper to hand as I wished to not forget the info he gave. A must read for anyone who wants a brief but concise understanding of how attachment types are so critical to our ability to love healthily and live peacefully without the yearning for more.

On the whole I accept the concepts of types of attachment behaviour . My favourite on the subject The new science of Adult Attachment Amir Levine well written and narrated .

Similar content to how to love or leave an avoidant
I was disappointed to find almost the exact same content as the book written on leaving an avoidant. I didn’t really learn anything new. I also feel jeb could revise this with a little more positivity for the 30/40 somethings who are only coming to learning about dating and attachment now. There is a quite a depressing slant in this book which can make you feel quite hopeless, when in reality once armed with knowledge there is no reason to not find a suitable and loving partner even if you didn’t have very good models when growing up.
