All’inizio degli anni Trenta l’Italia è un Paese fragile: segnata dalla Grande Guerra, travolta dalla crisi del 1929, schiacciata da un sistema bancario in collasso e da un’industria ancora debole. È in questo contesto che nasce l’IRI, l’Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale: inizialmente un ente provvisorio, pensato come pronto soccorso per salvare banche e imprese. In pochi anni, però, diventa il cuore dello Stato imprenditore, una holding pubblica capace di gestire settori strategici come siderurgia, telecomunicazioni e cantieristica. Questa puntata racconta l’ascesa dell’IRI, dall’emergenza della crisi del ’29 all’autarchia fascista e alla guerra.
