About this listen

As we are mid-way through September — a month recognized as Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month — we ruminate on what mental health means to us and how we can use our platform to spread awareness.

In this episode, Women in Law Association (WILA) Co-Presidents Victoria Perchal and Maleeha Aslam take a vulnerable look into their Mental Health journey — the ups and the downs. From juggling mental health struggles and responsibilities to how their experiences may equip them for their future professions, we reflect on the importance of spreading mental health awareness.

Listen in as we discuss self-care habits that have transformed our mental health journey, while also acknowledging how Mental Health and access to mental healthcare are informed by systemic boundaries. We take a deep dive into real-life stories of the effects of the stigmatization of mental health.

We also explore the multi-faceted nature of Mental Health as our guests reflect on how their mental health struggles and coping skills contrast.

This episode serves as a reminder to not only make your mental health journey a priority, but to remind yourself that your mental health takes a village.

Let us foster that community together!
