About this listen

We are Verbs not Nouns, and the Most Important Verb of All is “Becoming.”

We are not fixed nouns; we are living verbs, constantly shifting and changing. This video explores the idea that identity is a continuous process of growth, transformation and reinvention, rather than something static. From career changes to spiritual growth, and from personal convictions to cultural shifts, we are all in motion. Through sharing my own story of moving between different roles in languages, teaching, writing, activism and creativity, I demonstrate how each stage was part of an ongoing journey. Instead of regretting our past selves, we should celebrate them as milestones on our journey to becoming who we are today — and who we are still becoming.

If you’ve ever cringed when looking back at your past, or felt guilty for changing your mind or direction, this reflection is for you. It's an invitation to embrace fluidity, to view identity as a verb and to face change with courage rather than fear.
