Hoy vamos a fijarnos en Estrabón, un geógrafo e historiador griego que vivió en tiempos de Roma. Su obra más conocida, la Geografía, nos habla de muchos pueblos de la península ibérica, incluidos los de Asturias. Pero ojo: Estrabón no escribía de forma neutral. Sus crónicas están llenas de propaganda romana. Presentaba a las comunidades del norte como pueblos bárbaros, atrasados y violentos, para justificar así la conquista y la “civilización” que supuestamente traía Roma. En realidad, sabemos que esa imagen distorsionada formaba parte de una estrategia política: mostrar que antes de Roma todo era barbarie, y después de Roma llegaba el orden.
