Summary

As he grows, he proves to be quite a mischief maker and one day determines that he will go to Madrid to meet the king. Despite his family’s protests he leaves, hoppity kicking his way to Madrid.

Along the way he encounters several elements (water, fire, wind) that each ask for his help, which he refuses to give.

Upon reaching Madrid he is snatched up by the king’s cook to be used in a chicken soup, and ultimately the water, fire, and wind punish him for his refusal to help.
