"Even if it took 86 years we would have summoned the worthy back to life..." – Eugene S. Robinson 07.09.2025

This week we ran a little experiment live… and, well, it was a classic Stomper-style clusterfuck. (Fly by the seat of our pants, naturally.) The grand plan was to cut the live show at a juicy cliffhanger about 20 minutes in over on YouTube, send you all off with just enough curiosity to subscribe here on the Substack, and then record the long segment privately in Ecamm. Sounds good on paper, right? But here’s the catch: that meant no live comments during the bulk of the show and no full freebie live stream for the folks who love being in the live recording every week. Eugene was not having that. So—officially—this plan is nixed. Next week we’re back to live, full broadcast. We’ll tweet the link first, YouTube should ping anyone who hit subscribe + the bell, and yes—there may be a short “waiting room” moment before the show actually rolls. Then you’ll see our shiny new pre-recorded intro before Eugene dives in, same as always. He’ll wrap with “Look what you made me do, don’t die Blondie!”—the way nature intended—and then the show will go dark while I switch it to private for post-production.

Later that Sunday, you’ll get an excerpt (live video/audio) on YouTube and the RSS feed, and the full polished show will drop here on Substack in audio/video for subscribers to enjoy at leisure. Sorry for the chaos this week. We didn’t have time to run a proper private rehearsal or walk through all the shiny instructions I’d sent Eugene, and our internal chat plan totally collapsed. All apologies, all love. We’ll see you next week—more polished, more familiar, same Stomper fire.
