About this listen

A literary salon exploring the connections between music and literature. We invited band members to Wax Bar (Leeds) to read their creative writing aloud. The evening was opened by cult classic author David Keenan (This Is Memorial Device, England's Hidden Reverse) in conversation with Lee Brackstone of White Rabbit Books. Artists read poetry and prose that has not made that journey from scribblings to lyrics, writing that occupies a different space entirely. Some of it was lovely, some of it was sickening.     In June we hosted a literary salon at Wax Bar. I invited band members to read their creative writing aloud, to a crowded room. They read poetry and prose that had not made that journey from scribblings to lyrics, writing that occupies a different space entirely. Some of it was lovely, some of it was sickening.
