It’s official: Zack Wheeler will miss the rest of the 2025 season.

It wasn’t a surprise, so it was encouraging to see two solid performances this weekend from Aaron Nola and Ranger Suárez in a series win against the Washington Nationals. Philadelphia will need its healthy starters to step up with Wheeler sidelined. Suárez is one of the best pitchers in baseball when he is on. Nola is perhaps the Phillies’ best option for a right-handed starter in the postseason.
