" كنتُ فتاة صغيرة وهادئة، لي سجادة صلاة حمراء داكنة، مرسوم عليها ببدائيةٍ مكرّرة، صورتين واحدة للحرم المكي والأخرى للمسجد النبويّ، مفصولتين بخطِّ، خيطِ نسيجٍ متعرّج كثيراً، ولي كذلك وشاح صلاة من قطعتين، تنّورة مَزْمومَة على الوسط بحزامٍ يؤلمني ضيقَهُ وغطاءٌ للرأس مُفَصّلٌّ كمثلثٍ يسمحُ لوجهي فقط بالظهور، بينما ينسدلُ بقيّته وصولاً لنهايةِ جذعي، كان أبيض اللونبزهور ناعمة خضراء، وله رائحة تثير في القلب عصرة شجن عجيبة لم أفهم سببها.

كنتُ كلما عَزَمتُ على نفضِ الثّوب مُجبرة نحو البدء بالطقس والاستعداد _بالنيّة القلبية التي لم تكن صادقة في أغلب الأحيان لأنّ دافعها الخوف الكثيف_ بمزيجٍ من الرهبة والخشية والترقّب وطاعة المعلمة وانصياعي لحصص "المسجد" التي كانت تصطحبنا إليه خارج فصولنا المدرسية ونحن مُرتديات هذا الزي الديني،نمشي في صفّين متوازيين مثل بَتَلات زهر باتجاه المسجد، أو باتجاه "بيت الله" كما كانت تُشير مُعلمتنا إليه،بينما خيالي يفرز أسئلته في الحدود الناشئة حديثاً والمحتشدة بكلّ تلك المثيرات المربكة بــ جِدّتِها:

في أي الغرف من بيته يسكن الله!!"
