Nothing of any real substance here

It was entertaining enough but the content was thin and I found myself drifting away and thinking about other things. I could have written this myself with my weak knowledge of the subject.

This book is filled with golden nuggets!

I especially love the part where the author says that “the first step to solving the problem, is identifying the problem itself.” So true!

To control anger Take a breather

Your breathing becomes shallower and speeds up as you grow angry. Reverse that trend (and your anger) by taking slow, deep breaths from your nose and exhaling out of your mouth for several moments. Humor has been shown to be effective at defusing anger. When feeling angry, find comfort in what makes you laugh or feel light-hearted. Think of previous funny thoughts and experiences, or try to make light of situations that make you upset.

IT HAS NO REFERENCES TO GOD & HIGHER POWER TO HELP

Being assertive is an effective way of expressing your emotions without losing your temper. Express your feelings calmly and directly when faced with a situation that makes you angry. Being assertive however does not mean that you should be hostile or defensive. Take the time to also listen to the other person’s concerns, and learn to be patient with others as they express themselves.

By being assertive, you can more clearly express what you’re feeling and let out your inner frustrations in a controlled manner.

Upset that title is deceiving From anger

To The one who gave one star, YOU, and ONLY YOU, are responsible for your actions, and for the path you must follow in order to fix these problems. sitting around waiting for some "higher power" is just a means of blaming everything and everyone but your self. There was never any mention of a "higher power" anywhere in the description either, so why would you assume that there would be any? This workbook came quickly, had a bit of writing in the contents area, but otherwise extremely usable.

Beyond Anger Management

Great tool. The principal of my son's school recommended I get this book. That was right after he informed me that my son's mother had restricted my access to all his school records and all after school events until the judge makes a decision. I didn't think anything would help. But, I don't drink so I thought I would give it a try. It really has helped. Get it, use it. It will help. This is an excellent book assisting the individual with a guided view of the aspects of anger. It is well defined, easy to follow and gives you simple exercises to use in every day life. I am a health care practitioner and I have used this book with myself and have modeled it with my clients. I Highly recommend this book.
