Publisher's Summary

He's addicted to booze. She's addicted to sex... staying sober is only half the battle. No. More. Sex. Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation - sleeping in the same bed, for real, together - Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo's bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body. Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily's secret to her family and the public, he promises that he'll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety. They will torment Lily until Lo breaks. And his worst fear isn't relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words. No. More. Us.

Really????

Well I almost gave up on this one. Lily is so unbelievably (I hate to use this word) stupid that I couldn't take it. The choices she makes, make me cringe. However I do realize this is a series about overcoming addictions and growing and maturing. She is only 20 but I don't think I was ever around anyone as immature as that at 20. At the end there seemed to be some improvement I had decided I was done with this series but I think I will finish it out.

LOVED IT!! LiLo forever

What made the experience of listening to Addicted for Now the most enjoyable?

RE-READ via audio (2/26/2015)! Putting voices to Lily and Lo brought a whole new experience to this book. Even though I've already read this book I never expected hearing it would make me LOVE IT even more.

Gah, the voices were spot on and made me feel like I know the characters even better. I gained an appreciation for Jonathan Hale while listening to Lo talk about him. The first time I read it I'm not sure if I fully grasped how much Jonathan loves his son. But this time around my heart squeezed as I listened to Jonathan's love for Lo, even though it was pretty corrupt.

Listening to Lily share her feelings made me tear up. The emotion in her voice pulled at my heartstrings. Listening to Lo's determination to be the guy Lily needs had me swooning for him.If you've read this book then consider taking it to the next level and listen to it. And if haven't read it yet enhance your reading experience by listening to it. ADDICTED FOR NOW audio was EXCELLENT!

"Whatever happens,we're in this together. You and me. Lily and Lo."
She is my past, my present, my future.

All six characters are back and they are battling a big roadblock that revolves around Lily & Lo. Lily and Lo are reunited and are forced to face life without being addicted.

But a wrench is thrown into their plan when a person decides to out Lily's addiction to the world. The mystery around who this person is and the motivation for wanting to destroy this couple was very intriguing. I guessed all the way to the end who it might be and why they wanted to hurt this couple.

ADDICTED FOR NOW offers a dual pov. Being inside of Lo's head was fascinating because we got to hear his private conversations between him and his father AND we got to learn what was on the Lily's blacklist.

Emotional and Addicting

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES. The Addicted series is by far my favorite new adult series but Addicted For Now was the first book in the series that pulled me in completely. The story is unique and captivating. The characters are amazing and easily stole my heart. Actually listening to these charactesr come to life had me drowning in feels.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lily Calloway. Her POV chapters are always my favorite. She's adorably awkward and can be so amusing when she doesn't mean to be. She's the kind of character you want to mama bear and protect from the world.

What about Charles Carr and Erin Mallon ’s performance did you like?

The emotion. Erin Mallon and Charles Carr did an excellent job in bringing my favorite characters to life. Even how they read for secondary characters was wonderful.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It's also one I would listen to again (and again).

Any additional comments?

Listening to the banter between characters was by far my favorite part. I had to work really hard not to laugh out loud and grin like an idiot since I mostly listened to it on my way to class and during my study breaks. I failed a good number of times.

ADDICTED TO THIS SERIES

I love this whole series. Lo and Lily are just one out of of the 3 couples that I can't get enough of. This series is about love, heartache, addictions, family, the struggles celebrities face, the ups and downs of being in the media, having every single thing you do or choice you make scrutinized and so much more.

Mixed feelings - not my fav of the series

While a lot of progress happens for Lily & Lo & Co in this book, it is my least favorite so far. I drifted away from the story at several places. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m taking in all the books at once or if this book was just more tedious for me than the others but I would suggest new-to-these-authors readers start elsewhere.

Steam: low steam factor but a lot lot lot of awkwardly talking about mostly boring sex. Lily’s sex addiction males most of the sex scenes range from cringeworthy to unsexy. I suppose self-love was a less annoying word than masturbation but it got on my nerves about the 80th time it came up.

While I appreciate the authors trying to tackle the difference between an addiction to something one can/should avoid vs an addiction to a behavior that is a normal part of life, I needed a scene where Lily & either Lo, her sister, or her therapist explicitly address her anxiety. Yeah, she has issues with her mom, but the anxiety is RIGHT THERE ALL THE TIME and while Lily finally thinks about it occasionally, as a reader, I needed the social anxiety addressed more strongly than it was.

Despite being more drawn to the book/action/plot/growth in the last third of the book, I was annoyed like crazy that Lo apparently came up with his business idea without Lily’s input. They have done nearly everything together since they were 7, but the business idea is his alone? Even though it is designed around their mutual desires, it treats Lily like a trophy, not a partner. In a similar vein, while Lo apologizes for harming someone in the past, someone apologizes to Lo instead of to Lily, who was the more directly/strongly affected, and was there. What the heck??? (spoilerish: And the peace offering? Horrible decision to vouch for someone who would terrorize a young woman - that jerk’s bad actions were NOT all back in high school. Blechk. The apology given by Lo was correct, but the amends offered were not the way to go.)

I was also bothered by how several characters talked about “real” parents instead of “birth” parents despite nearly all of them finally getting much needed therapy and knowing at least one person who could course correct that destructive/magical thinking. It was really grating. At least Lo (minor spoiler) gave up his mom directed anger, mostly. But he might need more therapy for that too.

I like the later series about the kids more than this one. That is like one romance and 2 extended & fun epilogues. This is a slow, plodding path to get to where Lo’s therapist indicated: privilege & money don’t mean you don’t have problems & pain. Privilege & money mean you can do something about your problems & pain. This book (mostly) ended on a good note but this particular installment was more of a problematic slog for me. I’m still going to try out the next book.

I rather liked the audio narrators.

Enjoyed the first book but this one was way too long. Skipped about 40 chapters and got to the point.
