Atrocious Narration

I’ve never left a review like this before, but never felt the need before ! I so enjoyed Timothy Dalton’s reading of the previous 3 books in this series. This new narrator is dreadful. Lacking all atmosphere, and differentiation between characters. Worst of all is a truly appalling French accent for one of the characters, which would be funny in a different context but here is just distracting and annoying.

The quality of the writing especially description of the psychology of characters and the closeness to life.

The failure to fully engage the reader or to invite them to care for any of the characters.
