 日本に限らず、世界中で「宗教」と言えば、性欲を抑制し、遠ざけるものだというのが、 現代社会における通念である。しかし、本当にそうなのだろうか?確かに日本の神社は厳粛、清浄を旨とし、神社に仕える巫女にも、処女性が求められる。 巫女に、古より処女性が求められたのは確かだ。しかし、それは巫女の一面でしかない。 特定の神社に所属せず、諸国を放浪した「歩き巫女」のような巫女もいたのである。 彼女らは祈祷や託宣を行いつつも、旅芸人や遊女を兼ねる事もあった。 なぜ、清浄さを求められる巫女が、遊女をも兼ねたのか。 それは古代の根源的な宗教、信仰が、シャーマンによる神憑りを重視するからだ。 神憑りとは神が己の肉体に入ることであり、セックスと極めて近い性質がある。 さればこそ、シャーマン、巫女は女性であることが多いのだ。 文明発祥地・古代メソポタミアの神殿には「神聖娼婦」がいたという。 洋の東西を問わず、神なるものの根源にはセックスがある。 また、「歩き巫女」がそうであったように、芸能との関連も注目される。 遊女の代名詞である「傀儡」は人形使いの芸能者であるし、 諸国を放浪した歌舞伎の始祖・出雲阿国は、巫女であったとも言うが、 幕府に禁止されるまで、歌舞伎は女性が踊り、ストリップ的要素が強かった。 天の岩戸神話のアメノウズメノミコトの踊りは、ストリップ以外の何物でもない。 神事と芸能とセックスは、一体である。それを結び付けるのは「エクスタシー」だ。 古代ギリシアのデルフォイの巫女は、天然ガスを吸うことで神憑りとなった。 エクスタシーこそ、神憑りの状態なのだ。そこに神事と芸能の一体性がある。 近代以前の宗教観やセックス観を知らずして、宗教や信仰の本質には迫れない。。 若き頃諸国のソープを経巡り歩いた盛池雄峰と、 かつてソープ嬢と深い関係にあった高橋御山人が語り合う、 「セックス」から神社、神道を読み解く特別対談前編。 語り:高橋御山人 聞き役:盛池雄峰(C)2015 リブラ・エージェンシー Travel Writing & Commentary
