He has written two compilations of gothic horror short stories, Dead of Night and Beyond the Gossamer Veil, and a gothic horror/sci-fi mash-up novel, Something Wicked this way Comes!. Then his love of Sherlock Holmes fostered a desire to try his hand at Sherlock Holmes pastiches, which were well received. Several of his short stories have been published in the MX Publishing's Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories, and he has had two Holmes compilations, Elementary and That Which Remains, each reaching #1 on Amazon. William Todd also has two Holmes novellas published by Spellbound Books LLC, Murder in Keswick and A Reflection of Evil. He has also written a historical YA novel, A Summer with the Hermit King, also a #1 on Amazon, which was inspired by the local history of his adopted hometown of Erie, PA.
