Dr. Ryan Lahti is the Founder and Managing Principal of OrgLeader, a California-based firm that partners with CEOs, executive teams and boards. He elevates their ability to finesse the uncertainty, risk and complexity of running Fortune 500, middle-market, founder-led, and emerging organizations. Over decades of experience, Dr. Lahti worked as a management consultant with global firms including Ernst & Young and Hay Group, and led organizational effectiveness work inside major corporations. In 2006, he founded OrgLeader, building it into a specialized advisory firm. His clients span more than twenty industries and four continents, including IBM, Bank of America, Nestlé, Apple, RTX, Providence, Beckman Coulter, and GoodRx. As an industrial/organizational psychologist and ICF Professional Certified Coach, Dr. Lahti brings analytical rigor to situations others often approach as purely interpersonal. He also serves on boards himself, giving him a firsthand governance perspective, and advises top-potential leaders at critical inflection points in addition to his work with senior executive teams. Drawing on ten years analyzing leadership assessment data alongside his decades of practical, industry-tested experience, Dr. Lahti developed the finesse framework, a set of principles that help leaders navigate uncertainty, risk and complexity. He shares this framework in The Finesse Factor and in the business articles he authors as a contributor to publications such as Forbes on leadership and organizational effectiveness topics. He has also taught executive MBA and MBA courses on leadership, team dynamics, and organizational behavior. Dr. Lahti holds a BA in psychology/business administration from UCLA, an MA in industrial/organizational psychology from California State University Long Beach, and a PhD in psychology/organizational science from the University of North Texas. When he's not working, you're likely to find him exploring the outdoors.
