Peter Tye, full name, Peter Geoffrey Tye, grew-up in the Hampshire village of Hartley Wespall and joined the Royal Navy at the age of 15. After 8 years service, he went on to have a career in marketing and writing for business, before producing Colin Reeder's much loved Little Red Tractor stories for television. Unfortunately, Colin died before they had the required number of episodes, so Peter wrote new stories to keep Little Red Tractor's animated wheels turning. He had unwittingly embarked upon a new career. He writes for children from pre-school to early teens and and in 2020 published his 18th book on Amazon, HANGRY BIRDS, a Christmas fable for 7 to 9 year olds. During the covid lockdown, Peter turned to a biography he promised to write for John Cardrick a friend of 60 years standing. Amongst other achievments John was sales & marketing director of Faberge UK in the 70's and 80's and responsible for the launch of Brut 33. It's a remarkable life story during which he made enduring friendships with Henry Cooper, Barry Sheene, Cary Grant and many other stars and personalities. It has taken Peter 15 months to research and wade through hundreds of documents and photographs, John has accused Peter of knowing more about his life than he does. The result SPLASH IT ALL OVER was published on Amazon in May 2021.
