Little Red Tractor pulls the trailer for the combine at harvest time on Gosling Farm. He then takes the grain to Stumpy's windmill to be ground into flour where Stan takes an unexpected ride on the sails.

Stan and Little Red Tractor help Mr. Jones of neighbouring Beech Farm when his brand new tractor Big Fred runs into trouble.

When Little Red Tractor and Stan go to the market they come back with Jeremy, an old cart horse....

Auntie Ellie is a large sheep. She loves lying down by the river, watching over the lambs as they play. On a hot June day, whilst Stan and Little Red Tractor are haymaking, Auntie Ellie goes into the river to cool off and gets stuck in the mud! Auntie Ellie is much too heavy for Stan to lift, so he has to use Little Red Tractor to take the strain.

It is a hot summer day and Sidney the pig escapes from the pig field. He ambles unseen down to the river, where he cools down and causes mayhem.

It's a sunny Saturday morning in May. Patch is too tired to join in as Stan and Little Red Tractor do all the jobs around Gosling Farm, but when they answer an urgent call to cut the grass for Wrigglesworth Cricket Club, she can't resist going along. The grateful cricketers invite Stan to stay for Elsie's famous cricket tea. Afterwards, Patch is found in an old cricket bag, where she provides the biggest surprise of the day - five beautiful puppies!

The moles are active on Gosling Farm and Patch won't stop digging. Mrs Turbey is worried about her lawn, so Stan and Little Red Stactor take Maurice the mole man across the fields to Blackthorn Cottage, where he devises a colourful and humane way to keep the moles at bay. A grateful Mrs Turvey gives Stan an oak sapling. Stan thinks about replacing the dead oak in Five Oaks Field, but when he looks at all the creatures that use the old tree as their home, he changes his mind.

Stan and Little Red Tractor have been helping Mr Jones with the potato harvest of Beech Farm, but the work gives Stan a backache. The following day, they harvest the potatoes on Gosling Farm, but it is not until the last potato is lifted, that "Puppy" finds the cause of Stan's backache and his own name.

In this story Hetty, the large brown hen, who lays the biggest eggs on the farm, makes her nest in Jeremy's cart. But she is in for a big surprise - the cart has been decorated ready to go to the Wrigglesworth Carnival!

It's a cold, icy morning. A fox is on the prowl and Stan needs more crushed barley to feed the cows. Dudley the postman is finding it difficult to drive on the slippery roads, so Stan offers to take Mrs Turvey's letters across the fields in Little Red Tractor for him. But while they're away the fox visits Gosling Farm. Patch drives the fox away. Dudley has an accident. And the fox has an unexpected and tasty supper!

On a hot day in August, Stan sits on Little Red Tractor's front wheel to cool off. He listens to all the familiar country sounds, but amongst them he hears a call for help. A small boat has broken down in the river, with a young man and two children on board. Stan, Patch and Little Red Tractor go to the rescue.

A heavy snowstorm takes everyone by surprise on and around Gosling Farm. Stan checks that all the animals are safe and fed, before setting off in Little Red Tractor to help his neighbours. With all the extra work, Stan forgets to do his Christmas shopping, but his grateful friends rally round to make sure he has all he could wish for on Christmas Day.
