At 6' 8", it's true that Patrick Martens is very tall. So tall that most photographers tend to cut him off at the neck. But that hasn't stopped him from being a good writer. Patrick was born in a small town in the mid-70s and, for the next twenty-four years, packed up and moved every two to four years. Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, two places in Washington state, Florida, and Massachusetts have all been home to Patrick over the years. For the past twenty years he's resided in Southern California, not because he likes it, but because it's where the work is. Patrick has enjoyed quite a few interesting jobs over the years, too, including playing Frankenstein, Harry Henderson (Bigfoot), and Elwood Blues at Universal Studios Florida (check your photo albums, he's probably in there -- you'll know because you cut his head off in the picture) and, since 1999, as a microphone boom operator in movies and TV. You can hear his work on shows like "Glee" and "The Mandalorian" and movies like "The Hateful Eight," "Ad Astra," and "Space Jam: A New Legacy." But enough about this guy. If you really want to know who Patrick is, read "The Vagabonds of Dublin." He's right there in every word.
