I’ve been writing fiction for more than 60 years, and telling stories continues to bring me great joy. I like to write about “real” people - people you might meet in today’s world - who are faced with hard decisions that inspire them to grow ethically and morally. I hope readers find my books “unputdownable” - good enough that you’ve got to read just one more chapter…and then one more after that. My new book, Little Great Island, looks at the individual, familial, and communal response to climate change. I’ve been fortunate to live long and travel to remote places, so I have personally seen what’s happening to landscapes, species, and communities impacted by climate change. I’m worried, but it’s not my desire to worry you. What I hope is that you will feel motivated to join with me in making a few small changes in your life to help preserve our planet.
