I’m currently conducting research on women and exploration in Greenland. My most recent book is "Antarctic Pioneer The Trailblazing Life of Jackie Ronne" which is the first biography of a female Antarctic explorer. This was published by Dundurn Press in May 2022. I also wrote "The Polar Adventures of a Rich American Dame A Life of Louise Arner Boyd" published by Dundurn in 2017. This was the first comprehensive biography of a female Arctic explorer. The audiobook version of the critically-acclaimed "The Polar Adventures of a Rich American Dame A Life of Louise Arner Boyd" was published in 2021 by Blackstock Publishing. The Spanish language edition of the book was published by Ediciones Casiopea in 2019. I have a passion for all things polar and have spent many years working in the Arctic with Inuit women. My participation in a Last Degree North Pole Expedition gave me a unique insight into the inner life of my biographical subjects. I am a Fellow of The Explorers Club, a Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society, a Director and Chair of the Communications and Engagement Committee of the Society of Woman Geographers, an Affiliate Member of the American Geographical Society, a Member of the Antarctican Society, a Member of the Canadian Association of Geographers and a Member of the International Arctic Social Sciences Association.
