George Loewenstein is a Professor of Economics and Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University. He is one of the founders of Behavioral Economics and Neuroeconomics, and an originator of an approach to public policy known as "Nudge." His current research focuses include attention, information avoidance, curiosity, boredom, the desire to be understood and when and why we care about what goes on in other people's minds. He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
