Sheheryar Banuri is an internationally recognized behavioral economist with a deep understanding of human motivation and incentives. He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Economics at the University of East Anglia, in Norwich, UK. He has nearly two decades of research experience in behavioural economics and policy. His work has provided policy guidance to government agencies across the world. He routinely consults with multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, the UN, and GIZ. His work has been published in leading academic journals, and he is a co-author of the World Bank’s influential World Development Report 2015: Mind, Society, and Behaviour. He is also the author of Good Decisions for Strange Situations. Sheheryar's research is based on human decision-making using a combination of lab and field experiments across the world. His expertise has enabled him to uncover valuable insights on human behaviour and share them through various channels, including publications in leading academic journals, policy briefs for governments, and books on behavioral science topics. Sheheryar was born in Boston, MA, and moved around until settling into his current home in Cambridge. He holds a PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas.
