The Farm is the next step in the journey of the Living A Meaningful Life series. This installment is the more juvenile coming of age installment full of fun, adventure, and life lessons. They feature the first main character as a child, and thus include some “juvenile” and “coming of age” storylines and serve as a foundation for the series. The Living A Meaningful Life book series is a “family saga” series, written as an autobiography by the narrator.

It is a parody of the worst sort of family Christmas: Adam Lambsbreath dresses up as Father Christmas in two of Judith's red shawls. There are unsuitable presents, unpleasant insertions into the pudding and Aunt Ada Doom orders Amos to carve the turkey, adding: 'Ay, would it were a vulture, 'twere more fitting!'
