Splat. That’s the sound Hali Waverly made when she hit the pavement after a drunken billionaire ran her over with his golf cart. Cha-ching. That’s the sound her bank account made when his handlers got him under control and swooped in to buy Hali off. The offer? Ownership of a tiki bar on the property of a busy resort and lodging in one of the villas on St. Pete Beach. When private investigator Grayson “Gray” Hunter shows up asking questions about a missing woman, Gray and Hali lock horns.

Life at the Salty Cauldron is going well…right up until a body washes onto the beach. The dead woman, who is 40 years younger than her husband, had a run-in with Hali in her tiki bar the previous day. Authorities assume it was an accidental drowning, but a mark on the dead woman’s neck gives Hali pause. Grayson Hunter finds himself in a pickle when the identity of the body becomes public. Seems he was the one hired by the victim’s husband to investigate her extra-curricular activities. Surprisingly enough, it turns out she wasn’t having an affair.

Life is going well for Hali Waverly. She owns her own tiki bar at one of St. Pete Beach’s premiere resorts, and her life is settled for the first time in...well, a really long time. On top of that, a local private investigator she keeps crossing paths with has decided it’s time to date, something that both thrills and terrifies her. All of that changes when a body turns up on one of the resort’s balconies and the owner of the resort is passed out inside with no recollection of what happened.

She has a plan…and then the unthinkable happens. When leaving the doctor after scheduling surgery, a bank robbery suspect crosses Hali’s path. When his mask is removed, her boyfriend Gray Hunter recognizes him as a fellow shifter, and the questions only grow from there.

The big day has arrived. Hali Waverly is finally getting the surgery she so desperately needs. Her boyfriend Gray Hunter is determined to be by her side for it. She thinks she’s ready for it. Is she, though? The surgery itself goes off without a hitch. Hali’s recovery is another story. Ceding control of her beloved tiki bar to her brother and her boyfriend’s brother only amps up her anxiety. Things get worse when a storm hits, and it’s of the magical variety instead of the natural. When a body is found in the aftermath, things are bad.

Hali Waverly is in a holding pattern following hip surgery. She’s getting better, but she still has to be careful…especially living so close to the beach. Still, she thinks it’s safe enough to go out for dinner with her boyfriend Gray Hunter…right up until they’re swarmed by escaped prisoners. Hali thinks everything is okay until one of the prisoners uses magic on Gray and forces him to attack Hali. She manages to snap him out of it, but Gray no longer trusts himself and Hali is left with a doubting boyfriend as well as a lot of unanswered questions.

Hali Waverly is in a good place in her life. She’s feeling better after surgery. Her boyfriend Gray Hunter is moving his office closer to her tiki bar so they can work on their paranormal cases together. Everything is coming up rum-flavored. Unfortunately for Hali, things are about to blow up again. A jeweler’s conference should be easy—they have at least one a month after all—but when a magical tsunami hits at the same time the vault is emptied, trouble becomes the name of the game.

St. Pete Beach is getting weird. Between warlocks, shark shifters, and wolf packs going to war, Hali Waverly and Gray Hunter have their hands full. Things get even worse when shifters with ties to Gray’s pack start attacking people on the beach. What’s even weirder is that when the duo step in during a frothing melee, the shifters drop dead before they can be questioned.

A day at a Tampa festival brings laughter and questions for Hali Waverly and Gray Hunter. Fun and games lead to a fortune teller, who warns them of incoming trouble. Hali laughs it off, but when they get home, they find the police have shut down the road in front of Paradise Lodge. There’s a body in the median, and Hali knows the victim. In fact, the dead witch is a member of her grandmother’s coven. But why was the victim so close to Hali’s home? Was she trying to warn her of something?

Hali Waverly is in a tailspin. Learning her grandmother wasn’t who she always believed—a good witch with pure motives—has thrown her entire world in tumult. She has no idea how to make things better. Gray Hunter wants nothing more than to propose to his girlfriend. He keeps telling himself that as soon as things calm down, he’ll pop the question. Unfortunately, he and Hali live in a world where nothing is ever calm. That’s never been more obvious than during a trip to Tampa when a car goes barreling into a crowd at a farmer’s market.
