The Book of Death

Ramona Knox is a rookie FBI agent with a special advantage - since she was a little girl, Ramona has been visited by a suited man nobody else can see. This man claims to be Death, something the newly minted agent’s relationship with him will continuously transcend and defy. As Ramona’s lifelong friendship with the Grim Reaper develops, joining them to a suicidal immortal upon whose fragile state their destinies are hinged, the trio must face a deadly virus within an alternate timeline.

History is in pieces. A time-traveling celestial being has interfered in the natural order, resulting in a series of butterfly effects that have reset the world as we know it. In Manhattan, the Twin Towers stand. Russia has collapsed and China is the dominant world superpower as America draws further into itself. 

Befriended by the celestial being called Death as a child - and betrayed as an adult - a former FBI agent awakens to a world in ruin, but does not suffer its effects long. Transported to the land of Atlas, she is soon tasked with preventing a coup against the supreme realm's Grand Council, and preventing an ancient evil from destroying the pinnacle of Creation, along with all living things it governs. The path to darkness is lined with a thousand blinding lights. 

In post-apocalyptic Oregon, a young hermit’s lonely existence is disturbed by a comet coming between her homestead and a town of outlaws who would burn it to the ground. In a purgatorial realm called the Shroud, two celestial beings are cast down to judgement. And, in a mysterious valley, a group of shapeshifters races to protect their long-held secrets from outsiders. As Creation’s last defenders race against time and conflicting motives to prevent Earth’s ultimate annihilation, alliances will be tested, and friendships broken if it preserves the greater good.
