June 1914. Edie Moore is a Governess for Lord and Lady Moreland, living comfortably at the grand Downland House in Sussex. 1915. Hetty Affleck is working as a maid at the prestigious Beach Hotel in Littlehampton. Meanwhile, a flu epidemic starts to spread and as more people fall ill, the hotel is forced to close. Matters come to a head when Susie plots to reveal secrets about Fanny that could spell her ruin.
