A debilitating virus emerges in India and quickly burns its way through the densely populated areas of Asia. The victims suffer for days even weeks on end until finally succumbing. Streets are empty and major cities are mere graveyards. Because of the slow killing nature of the virus, attempts to contain it to one continent seemingly work at first, but human smuggling into infection-free areas cause the virus to break borders globally.

In the wake of global devastation, the Ancients have risen to take their place again in society and on the top of the food chain. But that will not happen without a fight. Following the loss of his wife and baby, Darren sets out to create a human army with one goal in mind…to defeat the Ancients at any cost. People are scattered and scared and the ancients are smarter and stronger than Darren first believes. That will not stop him. He, along with Davis, are on a mission. One they vow to not fail. 

After being pushed to the brink of death, Darren is now pushed to find an end to Nito and her people. Saving humanity is foremost, but saving his son is vital. When they learn that King Seti never arrived, Darren and Davis embark on a journey to find him. The king would be the ultimate bargaining tool.
