Four deaths. Four products. One marketplace that insists it sold none of them. After a telescopic ladder folds beneath an electrician, Luc De Peyrac recognises more than a tragic accident. In the same week, a fire kills a child, a toddler chokes on a loose magnet and a woman dies after using a beauty product whose label concealed a known allergen. Each product was bought through TreLLiVane, the world's dominant fictional online marketplace. Each had been reported before. Each had supposedly been removed. Yet the same photographs, spelling mistakes, model numbers and conformity claims keep returning beneath new sellers and new listing identities.Using H.UN.T, an evidence system still searching for its first paying customer, Luc follows the warnings that disappeared when the pages did. To persuade the police and the Crown Prosecution Service to look again, he must prove not merely that dangerous products were sold, but that a corporation learned how to make responsibility vanish. The listing is still live. The buyer isn't.
