Best friends Nan and Irene want what all 16-year-old girls in their village want - to find true love and marry. Instead, they're going to have to defeat an evil wizard. When Irene and Nan's village is attacked by the army of the Secret Valley, the two girls are taken captive - destined to become "playthings" to the King. When they learn an evil wizard, known as the Black Lord, is the real power behind the Secret Valley, their only hope is to escape to Wizards' Keep and persuade the last remaining wizards to come out of retirement and help defeat the Black Lord.

Queen Irene's young son and wizard Winter is missing. His wizard teacher Seever has tried to find the boy using his “faraway vision”, but it is blocked when he looks to the north. Since only a powerful enchantment can block his sight, Seever concludes an unknown wizard must have taken the young prince. But aside from Winter and his two teachers Seever and Kaza, there are no other wizards left alive. Or, are there?
