A group of friends, Kevin, Carl, Mike, and Susan, decided to go hiking in the woods near an abandoned cabin. As they were walking along the trail, they found a gold ancient artifact. It looked like a medallion. The artifact had strange engraved symbols on it and was attached to a long chain. The group of friends kept the strange-looking artifact with them as they were hiking. They took it to the cabin. Later that night, as they were getting all settled in, everyone noticed that it had a strange bright orange glow.

Later that night the medallion took on a weird orange glow, and the four friends became the victims of supernatural activity. They found out the ancient medallion belonged to a powerful and wealthy Frenchman who once built castles in the area.

A lonely 18-year-old, Kris Robertson left his mountain hideaway only to discover a deserted city of isolated individuals scrambling over the debris. Young girls being abducted, wild dogs attacking people. Scared young people hiding from raiding parties and each other. Scavenging for a life among the remains of the past. There is no community, no one in charge. Kris must decide whether to assume that responsibility or walk away.

Three pill heads living in the same halfway house all suffer from the same nightmare. They each dream of a man hacking up his family with an ax. Their counselor is all too willing to chalk up the dreams to their collective drug withdrawal. But as their rehab draws to a close, the addicts realize that the house they are living in could be truly haunted after all.

Sex symbols, whether from the past or present, allure like little else. Though many sex symbols have emerged over the years, three have triumphed as American icons: Rudolph Valentino of the 1920s, the Beatles band of the 1960s, and Justin Bieber of today. Through poetry, this work praises beloved American icons, while attempting to harness and integrate their charismatic powers. Hopefully, these prominent icons will inspire other sex symbol icons to emerge in the very near future.
