Beneath My Teeth is not a gentle collection. These are commands disguised as poems, each one a blade drawn slow across the skin, each one a ritual of power, surrender, and ruin. Told in sharp, intimate scenes, this book drags the listener into a world where control is taken, obedience is worship, and desire is edged with something feral. Every piece builds on the last until you are left trembling at the altar of ache, surrounded by bruises, bite marks, and the kind of devotion that burns through bone. This is for the listener who wants to be overwhelmed.

He leans in closer, the glow of his mask illuminating my face. His fingers press firmer against the back of my neck, anchoring me in place. “I’ll give you a head start, princess,” he whispers, his voice silk and sin. Then…He vanishes. No footsteps. No rustle. Just gone, like he was swallowed by the night, as if he was never there. This moment haunts my every thought.

As a literary agent, Joy Eggerichs Reed sees book proposals that, unfortunately, she writes off after about 60 seconds of skimming. While that may sound harsh, there are specific things she looks for that show her immediately how seriously a writer takes their goals of getting published.
