Gumdrop City is a fictionalized true crime story discovered in a university class on abnormal psychology and the original short story to the award-winning film prequel, Gumdrop, a short horror piece. This story is included in my first collection of short horror and sci-fi stories, Anthology of Evil.

A medieval Witch Hunter and Judge of the Inquisition has a problem; the same one his mentor had to deal with years before. This is a document that was found by a modern researcher, who had his own problems (further explored in "Death of Heaven").

Jimmy and James are two young boys who leave on the same block. They are best friends, adventurers in the realm of childhood as they decide to dig up the yard for buried treasure. What they dig up is a terror beyond their ability to put comprehend. Unless that word is - a scream. The adventures of Jimmy and James are continued in the epic Horror book, Death of Heaven.
