When the lights went out in August of 2036, no one was prepared for what it would mean. No one saw it coming, and no business or government had put in place plans sufficient enough to withstand the event. Sean Heevy, a loving husband and father of three daughters, was like everyone else, living his daily life. Upon surviving his plane’s crash, Sean could think of just one thing: getting to his family.

When 63-year-old Dean Hudson wakes on a cruise ship, confusion clouds his mind, his memory foggy and patchy, with no clue why or how he’s there. As memories trickle back, filling in the gaps, his worry fades, and he embraces the vacation. Yet, as days unfold, the ship’s events, activities, and crew stir unease in him. Each hints at something just beyond his grasp. As time presses on, clarity dawns, and Dean realizes the truth: nothing on this ship is as it seems.
