تبدأ هذه الرواية في دارفور وتنتهي في باريس مستندةً على واقعة حقيقية حدثت قبل أعوام عندما كشف السودان وتشاد عن عصابة تقوم بتهريب الأطفال من المنطقة وبيعهم في باريس. حيث تسلّط الرواية الضوء على الصراع السياسي القائم في إقليم دارفور السوداني.. أسبابه وبعض ملامحه، وتبرز الوجه البشع للحضارة الغربية التي ترتدي -وفق الرواية- قناعاً إنسانياً لإعادة عملية الرق مرة أخرى، من خلال حكاية الفتاة الزرقاء بابنوس وأخيها وارتحالهما من ذلك المكان الذي يُدعى الخربقة واستقرارهما أخيرًأ في باريس في رحلةٍ يدمى لها القلب وبنهاية موجعة لكنّها حقيقية.

تبًا.. بماذا كنت أحلم... لا أتذكر..!! وضعت رأسى أسفل الصنبور.. أشعر بالإرهاق ،لقد استعاد جسدى كامل صحته.. حتى بنيتى أصبحت قوية.. حسناً سوف أخبرهم بقطع تلك الإجازة اللعينة.. عدت أفضل مما كنت سابقا.. وها أنا أقرر العودة للعمل.. وعند طريق العودة للعمل.. لفت انتباهى خبر في جريدة.. يقول: " مقتل الطبيب النفسى الشهير على يد مجهولين بوحشية.. جثة لم يبق منها سوى عدد قليل من العظام" !! بماذا كنت أحلم ؟!!
