In preparation for things to come, Derek spent most of his time in Cydaria making it safe for all of his friends and companions. He saw Thomas off to the Academy, helped Brandi with materials for crafting, and more. Once he had Savanna to his liking, he chose to adventure with Alanah. They traveled to the other continent and explored different kingdoms before ending up in Linderis—Alanah’s birthplace. Alanah had no good memories of there, save for her mother.

Savannah was unlike any city Derek had ever been to. For the first time since his arrival in Cydaria, Derek actually met a respectable city lord. Natalie Savannah and the city she ruled were much more than he’d imagined. With this combination, Derek made the decision to put down roots by building a shop from scratch and moving his people in. He was even able to get Silvi the beloved kitchen that she so desired, along with personally meeting Alanah Swan and learning new things about the new system he was thrown into—things that only someone who was truly strong would know.

Derek has saved villages and maybe even cities from overflowing dungeons. He later helped with the capture of one of the most despicable noblemen in the entire kingdom. After that, he, at the request of Prince Edgar, helped prevent upcoming danger by clearing a raid dungeon and keeping it from overflowing into the kingdom. Then, he and Silvi joined a war effort that began while he was clearing the dungeon.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

It’s not easy being a System Traveler. Well, the traveling part is hard, at least. But once Derek got his feet under him, he hit the ground running, saving an entire area from a massive dungeon overflow in the process. He even found some companions to help ease the massive hole inside him formed from spending decades alone in the void.

After some unsettling news brought to them by an unexpected messenger, Prince Edgar fled the Raid Dungeon to hurry back to his kingdom, leaving Derek as the impromptu leader. Being concerned about his people on the outside, Derek chose to rule with an iron fist to finish the dungeon as soon as possible. This choice didn’t make him any friends, but he didn’t need any for it to work.

After a successful auction, the young Prince Edgar requested Derek’s help on an issue that concerned the safety of the entire Kingdom of Cydaria. A new, level 250 raid dungeon appeared, and Edgar needed the kingdom’s elite to help clear it before the unstable dungeon overflowed, or even worse, broke. Leaving his shop in the trusting hands of Malorie, and with everyone’s insistence that he go, Derek agreed to the prince’s request and joined him and the others on the raid. However, the dungeon wasn’t what anyone was expecting, and when they went inside, they found that it was a trial dungeon.

House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized. Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.

Das Haus Gracefall war nicht annähernd so, wie Derek es sich vorgestellt hatte. Anstatt mit Wut und Zorn über den Verlust ihres jungen Herrn um sich zu schleudern, zeigte sich das Haus Gracefall demütig und entschuldigte sich sogar.

Es ist nicht einfach, ein Systemreisender zu sein. Gut, zumindest der Teil mit dem Reisen ist schwierig. Aber nachdem Derek erst einmal Fuß gefasst hat, legt er einen Blitzstart hin und rettet dabei eine ganze Region vor einem gewaltigen Dungeonüberlauf. Er hat sogar ein paar Gefährten gefunden, die ihm dabei helfen, das riesige Loch in seinem Inneren zu stopfen, das sich bei ihm während all den Jahrzehnten allein in der Leere gebildet hat.

Kämpfen, überleben, sich anpassen und sich nur auf sich selbst verlassen. Das ist Dereks Motto, mit dem er die Systemintegration auf der Erde gemeistert hat. Alles änderte sich, als das System kam. Aus niedlichen Häschen und wunderschönen Schmetterlingen wurden brutale Tötungsmaschinen. Dann tauchten die Invasoren auf. Sie hatten nur ein Ziel: sich diesen neuen bewohnbaren Planeten untertan zu machen. Seitdem herrschte Krieg. Derek war das alles ziemlich egal, denn es machte sein Leben nur ein wenig gefährlicher. Er zog sich größtenteils zurück.
