There are Seekers of tigers, lions, monkeys–all the creatures under the sun. But a Seeker of the Dragon? Such hasn’t been seen for centuries. Until Jaden of Lessertown. Jaden dreamt of his Legendary Beast on the morning his life changed forever. Enlisted to become an Imperial Seeker and serve the cruel Emperor, he is thrown into an initiation ceremony that is brutal beyond comprehension. But it doesn’t last for long, because there are others who wish to train Seekers, rebels from within the mysterious Hidden City.

The Hidden City has been exposed, and Devourer is assembling an army from the four corners of the empire to march upon and destroy it. He has with him monsters that he has drawn to their world from across the Polyverse—Golems, Archanoptera, Noon Wraiths. According to the prophecy, the victor of the coming battle will have three armies under their command. Devourer has his, and now Jaden is given the task of assembling that of the rebellion. To do so, he must find and bring back the Elven army, which disappeared from their world thousands of years ago.

After a harrowing experience in the ancient Elven monastery, Jaden turns his attention to his studies at the Free Academy. But it's not long before Devourer's machinations are revealed and Jaden is forced to leave the Hidden City. But he isn't leaving alone. He is joined by his friends, Seekers like him, with bonds to their own Legendary Beasts. Together, they will face terrible horrors and seemingly insurmountable odds brought on by Devourer's quest for dominance of not only Jaden's world, but all others in the Polyverse.

Jaden and the Free Seekers won the battle in God’s Bowl and destroyed Devourer’s infernal machine to manipulate the worlds. Now Devourer has destroyed the ancient city of Marleborn, a center of resistance to the Empire, by spreading the plague of Noon Wraiths. Headmaster has also gone missing while on his own mission to destroy another of Devourer’s machines. If he has been captured or killed, it could lead to the Hidden City’s location being revealed to Devourer, putting the rebellion in danger.
