A century after Russia's surprise thermonuclear first strike, America struggles to survive as a radioactive wasteland. Locked in a cruel yoke of oppression by its Soviet dictators, the United States has only one chance to regain her past glory: Ted Rockson, the Doomsday Warrior and his high-tech guerilla army of freefighters - the brave shock troops of freedom! 

Nearly three years have passed since we last saw Ted Rockson. In that time America has finally become free of Soviet Occupation. The war has been won, and Rockson can finally live the life that he has only dreamed of. However, that serenity is quickly shattered by one of Rockson's oldest and most feared enemies, General Zhabnov. On a quest for revenge, Zhabnov traps Rockson in a mysterious device know only as the "Dream Machine". Now Rockson must fight to regain his freedom once again, only this time the enemies he battles are his very nightmares themselves.

Rockson, the Doomsday Warrior, leads the American Rebels against the Russian occupation in their most desperate hour and is captured and tortured by the KGB.  

One hundred years after Russia's thermonuclear first strike, the radioactive wasteland that was once America has become a slave state crushed under the iron fist of the Soviet invader. Only a small, fierce group of survivors refuse to submit to the oppressive Red overlords. Led by Ted Rockson, the ultimate soldier of survival, the Freefighters are dedicated to returning freedom's way to their nuclear-shattered homeland; to push the hated Russian oppressor into the sea - or die in the attempt. 

The lightening-quick Russian victory over the United States is total and complete. The Soviet thermonuclear first strike transforms America's cities into fire-scorched mounds of radioactive rubble, its vast countryside into a shattered wasteland. The onslaught of Russian invasion troops capture most Americans fortunate enough to survive the nuclear carnage, creating a slave labor force to serve every demand of the Russian overlords. But a handful of survivors escape the Russian net and choose to live - and give their lives if need be - for freedom's cause.

For years, Colonel Killov, the head of the KGB forces based in the post-apocalyptic United States, has taken a submissive role to President Zhabnov and his leadership over North America. Now, having survived several assassination attempts ordered by Zhabnov, Colonel Killov finally pushes his own evil gambit into action. Colonel Killov decides to put his massive attack plan against the American-based Red Army in motion and unseat Zhabnov from power, thus controlling North America and eyeing control of the Soviet Empire and subsequently the entire world. 

The freefighters have fought their first major engagement in their campaign to rid America's shores of foreign invaders after 100 years of occupation. With devastating results.... Declaring it a victory, the freefighters have suffered countless losses in the end. Century City, their secret underground stronghold, is crippled by a nuclear attack and may not be salvageable. And their ultimate soldier, the Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson, the man who has lead the rebellion against the Soviet Empire occupation, cannot be found among the carnage and is presumed dead. 

The Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson, barely escapes from Moscow in a hijacked MIG fighter and crash-lands in the Midwest of America. But this is a post-apocalyptic 2089 AD America, and he must traverse the deadly wasteland to return to one of the last outposts of freedom in the Rockies, Century City. In the meantime, the Soviet Empire is preparing their most devastating attack on the American freefighters.  

In the post-apocalyptic nightmare that is America 2089, the future of the rebellion against the world-dominating Soviet Empire has never been so bleak. The first meeting of the Free Cities to elect a Re-constitutional Congress has ended in a nuclear firestorm with the Soviets wiping out nearly all the members. The Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson, has barely escaped with the newly elected president. However, the unthinkable has now happened - Rockson, the man on every "Wanted" poster throughout the world, is captured by Soviet forces and taken to Moscow.
