Like the Twits for a new generation, the Grunts are neither clean nor clever, but their adventures are most definitely terrifically fun listening. Meet Mr and Mrs Grunt. Oh, go on. They’re not that bad. No, actually, they are. Maybe worse, even. But Sunny, their sort-of son, is okay. They stole him from a washing line as a baby. He was hanging by his ears, which probably explains why they’re so wonky (but not why he has sticky-up hair that never lies flat, even if you pour glue into it or try taping it in place).

Over the years, the Grunts have made more than a few enemies. But fortunately they're all safely behind bars. Or are they? There's been a prison breakout and three of them are after revenge. It's time for the Grunts to go on the run.

Add a nose-biting squirrel, escaped bees, rogue fireworks and crashing biplanes (again!), and you'll see why poor Sunny and Mimi have a lot on their plate. And that's before the Grunts end up in jail.

In this hilarious sequel to the hugely popular Barking Up the Wrong Tree, Sally Stick and her shaggy best friend Fetch discover plenty more mysteries to solve. Like, is there a beaver loose in the town? Who is the handbag thief? And, most importantly, why does Uncle Bob's house always smell of biscuits? Somehow, despite the accidents, misunderstandings and general confusion that dog the hapless pair wherever they go, they always get results. And they have a lot of fun along the way!

Mr Grunt's a man with a mission. He has to get a Person of Great Importance (or POGI) to someone called Mrs Bayliss by the 25th. Alive and well. And he can't tell anyone more than that, not even his lovely wife, Mrs Grunt, because there will be people trying to snatch the POGI and so the POGI must be transported in secret. It's an exciting adventure, but what interests Mr Grunt most are the silver coins he's been promised at the end of it.

In der Fortsetzung von »Schlimmes Ende« erlebt Eddie Dickens noch wildere Abenteuer: Er überlebt um Haaresbreite eine Explosion und einen Heißluftballon-Ausflug, trifft ein Mädchen mit einem Kamelgesicht und wird von einer Schurkenbande zu einem »kleinen Auftrag« überredet. Alles in allem würdige Abenteuer für ein Hörbuch, das zwischen Charles Dickens und Monty Python ganz neue Maßstäbe gesetzt hat – schon allein, weil Harry Rowohlt für die Übersetzung verantwortlich zeichnet und selbst liest.

Im dritten Teil der Eddie-Dickens-Trilogie begibt sich Eddie auf die Reise nach Nordamerika. Den Platz an Bord des Segelschiffs »Pompöses Schwein« teilt er sich mit einer Ladung verlorener Schuhe und einer Reihe sonderbarer Gestalten. Einige von ihnen sind schon aus den vergangenen Abenteuern Eddies bekannt. Zu allem Unglück wird Eddie dann auch noch in einem leckgeschlagenen Ruderboot ausgesetzt ...
